REFRESHER COURSE

You haven’t been diving for a while?

YOUR REFRESHER COURSE

Prerequisites:

  • be a certified diver
  • be at least 10 years old
  • be medically fit to dive

 

The course consists of two or three different sections:

  • Knowledge review: we will meet at the dive centre and assess your diving experience, review some of the theory if needed, and make a plan for the pool dive. This course is tailored for your needs, so feel free to ask any questions or let us know any skill that you would like to practice!
  • One pool dive: following our chat at the dive centre, we will go to a swimming pool to practice some fundamental skills including mask and regulator skills as well as playing some buoyancy games.
  • Open water dives: for the second option, you have two open water dives included in the pack. The goal is to practice more skills in an open water environment, improve your buoyancy whilst having fun!

  • You will need to pay your entry fee to the dive site where we conduct the open water dives. Today’s rate is £22 per day or £15 for members; membership costs £35 and is valid for two years.
  • If we don’t have a suit that fits you, we might need to source one at extra costs

At MK Scuba Diving we like to keep the group as small as possible to ensure that you get the best experience possible. For a refresher course, there will be a maximum of two students per instructor or divemaster.

We use different pools for the confined water dives:

  • Wolverton Leisure Centre – Addington Ave, Wolverton, Milton Keynes MK12 5GH
  • Leon Leisure Centre – Fern Grove, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2 3HQ
  • Inspire swimming pool – Butterfield Green Road, Luton LU2 8DD

For the open water dives we use mainly Stoney Cove – Sapcote Rd, Stoney Stanton, Leicester LE9 4DW. This is formal quarry which has great facilities and is ideal for dive training. They have a shop, gas filling station, changing rooms with showers and a pub where we usually go to debrief and fill out our log books!
