YOUR OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE

The course consists of three different sections:

  • Knowledge development: you will learn the basic principles, concept and terms so you can enjoy diving whilst being safe. With eLearning you can study during your own time at your own pace so there’s no need to sit in a classroom. Once ready we will meet to complete a quick knowledge assessment quiz.
  • Confined water dives: you will practice different skills in a very safe environment over five pool sessions.
  • Open water dives: over two days – four dives – you will apply and demonstrate the skills and knowledge you have previously learned.

We teach PADI and SDI courses and both agency certifications are equally valid and recognised worldwide. Get in touch if you have any questions.

Prerequisites:

To join the course you need to be at least 10 years old and be medically fit to dive. You don’t need to be an olympic swimmer, just having basic swimming skills is enough. You will need to complete a 200 metre swim during the course but don’t worry, this is no a race as there is no time limit 🙂

FAQs

At MK Scuba Diving we like to keep the group as small as possible to ensure that our instructors have plenty of time to look after you without rushing. The maximum students per group is six for the basic pack, four with the standard and two for the premium. We can organise 1-2-1 too, get in touch for more information.

We use different pools for the confined water dives:

  • Wolverton Leisure Centre – Addington Ave, Wolverton, Milton Keynes MK12 5GH
  • Leon Leisure Centre – Fern Grove, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2 3HQ
  • Inspire swimming pool – Butterfield Green Road, Luton LU2 8DD

For the open water dives we use mainly Stoney Cove – Sapcote Rd, Stoney Stanton, Leicester LE9 4DW. This is formal quarry which has great facilities and is ideal for dive training. They have a shop, gas filling station, changing rooms with showers and a pub where we usually go to debrief and fill out our log books!
